At the NWS conference this afternoon, there were no significant changes in the information which President Cedars shared earlier this morning. One exception, however, is that the amount of accumulated ice is forecast to exceed .50 of an inch in parts of our Parish between now and tomorrow mid-morning. Therefore, Parish President Chester Cedars again asks that you do not drive unless absolutely necessary.
Moreover, there is a chance that beginning tomorrow and continuing into Tuesday, we may experience snow in lieu of freezing rain. This will be better than ice as regards the potential of power outages. However, treacherous driving conditions will still be present.
Please stay safe and warm!
Tomorrow morning, Parish President Chester Cedars will again assess the conditions with our OEP and disseminate any new data.
