This afternoon, Governor John Bel Edwards officially issued Executive Order 52 JBE 2020 which extends the current Stay At Home Order until May 15, 2020. Three noteworthy changes in the “new” Stay at Home order include:
- Malls will remain closed to the public, but stores may open for curbside delivery
- Restaurants will be allowed to open their outside areas for patrons to eat meals only, WITHOUT TABLE-SIDE SERVICE
- All employees of a business who have contact with the public must wear a mask or face covering
Since this Order is effective May 1, 2020, President Chester Cedars has outlined the pertinent provisions of the Executive Order and the regulations established by the Office of State Fire Marshall for the implementation of the outdoor dining which restaurants may now offer. Both the regulations from the State Fire Marshall and this outline are below. Please note that the Fire Marshall’s regulations, which were first disseminated on April 28, 2020, were revised this afternoon.
