In removing Hurricane Delta debris, the public is advised that any storm debris removed from one’s private property should not obstruct any road, drainage lateral or public right of way. This photograph depicts debris which was placed within the right of way of a Parish road. Unfortunately, a motorist impacted the debris causing damage and possibly injury.

Therefore, the public is reminded to follow these procedures relative to the removal of storm debris.

• All yard waste (logs, plants, and tree branches) must be segregated from all other waste such as household waste, construction debris, and white goods which may have been damaged/destroyed by the storm.

• All debris should be placed on the edge of the property line so that it does not encroach upon any street/road or drainage lateral.

• Do not place any debris beneath any power or other utility lines.

• Do not place any debris near or on trees, poles, fire hydrants, meters, or any other structure.

Again, please be patient since the collection of storm debris will take several weeks.
